Allu Arjun, an icon star, will receive a national award in 2023

Allu Arjun was honored with the prestigious Best Actor award during a ceremony in New Delhi on Tuesday. His father, Allu Aravind, and wife, Sneha, proudly witnessed this historic moment as it marked the first time a Telugu actor received the National Film Award for Best Actor. Allu Arjun’s exceptional performance in the Telugu film ‘Pushpa: The Rise,’ directed by Sukumar, earned him this prestigious recognition.

The 69th National Film Awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday, with the Telugu film industry receiving several awards for its contributions in 2021.

As Allu Arjun approached the stage to accept the award, a screen displayed his iconic dialogue, ‘Pushpa, Pushpa Raj, yavva Thaggede Le,’ along with his signature hand gesture. He respectfully touched the podium as he received the award from the President.

During the announcement, his character ‘Pushpa’ was described as delivering a ‘charismatic performance of an underdog challenging an entire corrupt system’ in an ‘iconic role.’

Additionally, Kaala Bhairava was recognized with the Best Male Playback Singer award for his song ‘Komuram Bheemudo’ from the Oscar-winning ‘RRR,’ and choreographer Prem Rakshit received the Best Choreographer award for the same film.

Expressing his gratitude, Allu Arjun stated, “I am deeply humbled and honored by this moment. This award is not just a personal achievement but belongs to all the people who have supported and cherished our cinema.” He extended special thanks to director Sukumar, emphasizing, “You are the reason behind my achievement.”
